When you’re in a place with snakes, you absolutely need snake boots. These boots have both their advantages, as well as their disadvantages.

Ah yes, the classic controversy between rubber and leather. One of the major factors here is how much you’re willing to spend. Yet, no matter your budget, there are trains that each type of boot has that might be a deal breaker for you. Read further and find out for yourself which style of hunting boot is best for you.

First, if your dealing with water, and I mean a lot of water, like you’re standing in water. Rubber is going to be the way to go.
Some hunters believe, however that rubber boots produce a scent that deer and other animals can pick up, which of course, you wouldn’t want that. That’s just one camp of people though. Many others, disbelieve that rubber messes with the scent in the air.
One things for sure, rubber is warmer. This could be an advantage, but it could also be an equal disadvantage. If your feet get hot, it’s just about as bad as them getting cold. You have to know the gauge of temperate you’re going to be hunting in to decide which style is best for you.
Furthermore, if your feet get too hot, and sweat a whole lot like mine, they can cause more than just an uncomfortable problem. For one, it can actually make noise when you’re hunting. Leather Boots
One of the best things about leather is that it breathes well. Another aspect, is that they’re more versatile. I can work in my leather boots, and do things like pick stuff up at the store, where I always feel like a weirdo when I drive into town and do my daily things wearing rubber boots.
As one buddy of mine pointed out, “There’s no upside to wearing rubber unless you’re going through water.” I agree with him. Unless you really need the waterproof, go with leather.
